If you applied for your Promise scholarship by the March 31st deadline, you’re probably wondering, “What’s next?”
A couple of things are happening right now. First, we’re pouring through the hundreds of applications we’ve received to verify everyone’s residency and application status. Second, we’re awaiting grade and attendance data from area schools; data we won’t have until after the school year. This ensures we have the latest and final grade, GPA, and attendance data.
Around July 15th you’ll be receiving a letter in the mail from Promise indicating your status. If you don’t qualify, you’ll be notified by US Mail. If you think we missed something, you’ll receive instructions on how to file an appeal. If you do qualify, you’ll receive a letter from us in the mail and a scholarship acceptance form. When you get this, just sign it and mail it back to us indicating that you’re ready to claim your Promise and you’re ready to start the next chapter of your education and life. From there, we’ll disburse funds to your college or university after the drop/add period this Fall.
In the meantime, work hard, get great grades, and look for a letter from us in July!
