New Haven Promise — both an incentive-based scholarship program and economic development engine funded by Yale University, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and Yale New Haven Hospital — has been working with the best and brightest local talent for seven years and now is ready to deliver local talent to your company!
New Haven Promise Scholars have been placed in more than 250 high-quality paid internships from 40 hiring agencies yielding nearly a million dollars in student income at Yale University, Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven Public Schools, the City of New Haven and other local New Haven businesses over the last four years.
College students from New Haven — receiving Promise dollars to attend Albertus Magnus College, Connecticut College, the University of Connecticut, the University of New Haven, Quinnipiac University, Southern Connecticut State University, Trinity College, Yale University and other prestigious colleges — are ready to land paid internships in the Elm City. These students will have received more than $10 million in Promise and Promise-leveraged scholarships and most of our current scholars and graduates have a cumulative GPA above 3.0. New Haven’s best and brightest have contributed more than 200,000 hours in community service to New Haven and will bring their civic-minded talents to your company.
While New Haven Promise scholars are studying in-demand majors such as business, finance, marketing, accounting, computer science, technology, engineering, health and nursing, our 700 active scholars represent ALL majors. This spring more than 100 of those Scholars will earn bachelor’s degrees and 600 others will be a year closer to a four-year degree. New Haven Promise is expanding its programming into the Greater New Haven business community and invite you to participate in this dynamic city- and Yale-backed initiative. New Haven Promise students are excited to return to the City of New Haven to launch their career, financial and civic lives.
