First-Gen Postponed: Now Showing Thursday, February 11th

Mother Nature came on a bit stronger than expected today in New Haven and, thus, the presentation of “First Gen Next Gen” has been rescheduled.

New Haven Promise, Wells Fargo and Southern Connecticut State will now present “First Gen Next Gen” at SCSU’s Lyman Center for Performing Arts on Thursday, February 11, at 7 pm. Both parking and the event are free and open to the public.

The initiative will have two components — the screening of the award-winning, Blair Underwood-narrated documentary “First Generation” and a panel discussion — led by New Haven Promise Executive Director Patricia Melton — with current students and parents willing to share wisdom and advice and answer questions.

It is important that the students of the Greater New Haven community hear about “First Gen Next Gen.” We hope that students and family members can discover that college is possible, but that there are things to do and to avoid.

Please make it a point to join us on Thursday, February 11th.
